Google to host RNC party at Tampa Museum of Art
Google will host a party for the Republican National Convention at the Tampa Museum of Art on Aug. 30. The Internet company (Nasdaq: GOOG) is the convention’s official social platform and live stream provider. Google will rent the museum for the bash. TMA’s 66,000-square-foot facility is located in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. It features seven interior galleries, an exterior sculpture gallery and the Sono Café. The RNC is scheduled the week of Aug. 27.

City of Largo suspends improvement fees
The Largo City Commission approved a 24-month moratorium on collecting parkland and facility/capital improvement fees. The fees are collected on residential developments and usually cost between $1,800 and $2,600 a unit, according to a written statement. The money is used for buying and developing parks. Psoria-Shield offering oversubscribed
Psoria-Shield Inc. raised $1.76 million in a private offering that drew strong investor interest. The medical device company originally planned to raise $750,000 when it launched its offering in January 2011, but later increased the offering size to $1.5 million, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Gov. Scott appoint James Kimbrough to TBARTA
Gov. Rick Scott appointed James H. Kimbrough to the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority. Kimbrough has been the vice chairman for SunTrust Bank’s Tampa region since 1967. He has also done work for the Tampa Bay Partnership Transportation Commission, the Pasco Economic Development Council and the Citrus Economic Development Council, according to a written statement. Florida unemployment falls to 8.7 percent in April
Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 8.7 percent in April, according to the Department of Economic Opportunity. It’s the lowest unemployment rate for the state since January 2009. Florida’s job growth rate has been positive for a consecutive 21 months, according to a written statement.
